No more standing water in the shower. No more kitchen sink that drains slower every week. No more wondering if flushing the toilet is going to cause a backup.
When your drains are actually clear—not just temporarily pushed through—you stop thinking about them. That’s the point. You shouldn’t have to plan your day around whether the plumbing will cooperate.
Most drain problems in Viera East aren’t random. Tree roots grow year-round here and find their way into older pipes. Sandy soil shifts during heavy rain and puts pressure on lines. Cast iron pipes that were installed decades ago are corroding from the inside out. If someone just snakes the line and leaves, you’ll be dealing with the same issue soon enough.
We use camera inspections to see what’s actually happening in your pipes. Then we clear it the right way—whether that’s hydro-jetting, root removal, or letting you know if a section of pipe needs to be replaced before it fails completely. You get a straight answer, not a temporary patch.
Drain Wizard is a family-owned business based in Cocoa, and we’ve been serving Brevard County and the Space Coast for over 17 years. Carl, our owner, started learning plumbing at 16—digging trenches, replacing cast iron, roughing in new construction. He’s a state-certified master plumber with over 40 years of combined experience, plus 20 years of military service that taught him what work ethic and accountability actually mean.
We’re not a national chain. We’re local, and we know what breaks down in Florida homes. We know Viera East has a mix of older golf course communities and newer developments, and the plumbing challenges are different depending on which side of town you’re on.
If your home was built before 1975, there’s a good chance you’ve still got cast iron pipes that are starting to fail. If you’re in a newer build, you might be dealing with builder-grade fixtures or drainage that wasn’t designed for Florida’s soil and weather. Either way, we’ve seen it and fixed it.
First, we figure out what’s actually wrong. That means asking a few questions about when the problem started, where it’s happening, and whether it’s getting worse. Then we run a camera line through your drain or sewer pipe so we can see exactly what’s causing the blockage—roots, grease buildup, collapsed pipe, whatever it is.
Once we know what we’re dealing with, we explain what needs to happen. If it’s a clog we can clear with a rooter or hydro-jetting, we do that. If there’s a bigger issue—like a section of cast iron that’s corroded through or roots that have cracked the pipe—we’ll tell you that too, along with what it’ll cost to fix it right.
After the line is clear, we test it to make sure water is flowing the way it should. If we used a camera, we’ll show you the before and after so you can see the difference. Then we clean up, answer any questions, and let you know if there’s anything you should keep an eye on going forward.
No surprises. No upselling. Just clear communication and a drain that works.

Every drain cleaning service starts with a camera inspection if the clog is recurring or if we suspect there’s more going on than just a surface blockage. That’s standard for us, not an upsell. The camera shows us whether you’ve got tree roots, pipe corrosion, bellied lines, or just a buildup of grease and debris.
From there, we use the right tool for the job. For most clogs, that’s a rooter or hydro-jetting. Hydro-jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the inside of the pipe and remove buildup that a snake can’t reach. It’s especially useful if you’ve got grease, sand, or roots that keep coming back. If the pipe is too damaged for jetting, we’ll let you know before we do anything that could make it worse.
In Viera East, a lot of homes deal with root intrusion because of the mature trees and year-round growing season. Roots follow moisture, and once they find a crack or joint in your sewer line, they’ll keep growing until the pipe is completely blocked. We can clear the roots, but if the pipe is already compromised, we’ll talk through your options for repair or replacement so it doesn’t happen again in six months.
We also handle cast iron pipe issues, which are common in older Florida homes. Cast iron corrodes over time, especially in areas with sandy soil and high water tables. If your pipes are at that point, we’ll walk you through what replacement looks like and give you a free estimate before any work starts.
If a plunger or drain cleaner fixes the problem and it doesn’t come back, you’re probably fine. But if the same drain keeps clogging, or if multiple drains in your house are slow at the same time, that’s a sign something deeper is going on.
When more than one fixture is affected—like your toilet and shower both draining slowly—it usually means the blockage is in your main sewer line, not just a single drain. That’s not something you can fix with a bottle of Drano. You need a camera inspection to see where the blockage is and what’s causing it.
Also, if you’re dealing with sewage smells, gurgling sounds when you flush, or water backing up into other fixtures, don’t wait. Those are signs that your sewer line is either blocked or damaged, and it’s not going to get better on its own. The longer you wait, the more likely you are to deal with a full backup or even pipe failure, which costs a lot more to fix than a cleaning.
Snaking a drain—also called rooter service—uses a cable with a cutting head to break through clogs and pull out debris. It works well for simple blockages like hair, paper, or small root intrusions. It’s faster and less expensive, and for a lot of clogs, it’s all you need.
Hydro-jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the inside of the pipe and remove everything—grease, sand, scale, roots, you name it. It’s more thorough than snaking because it cleans the entire diameter of the pipe, not just punches a hole through the clog. If you’ve had recurring backups or if the camera shows heavy buildup, hydro-jetting is usually the better option.
In Viera East, we see a lot of homes where tree roots have gotten into the sewer line. Snaking will cut through the roots and restore flow temporarily, but the roots will grow back because the pipe is already cracked. Hydro-jetting clears them more completely, but if the pipe is too damaged, we’ll recommend repair or replacement instead so you’re not paying for cleanings every few months.
For most homes, every two to three years is a good baseline—but it depends on your property and how your plumbing is holding up. If you’ve got older cast iron pipes, mature trees in your yard, or a history of slow drains, you might need it more often.
In Florida, tree roots are active year-round, and they’re one of the most common causes of sewer line problems. If roots have already gotten into your pipes once, they’ll come back unless the damaged section is repaired. In that case, annual inspections and cleanings can help you stay ahead of it until you’re ready to replace the line.
If you’re noticing early warning signs—drains that are slower than they used to be, occasional gurgling, or faint sewer odors—don’t wait for it to turn into a full backup. A camera inspection and cleaning now will cost a lot less than an emergency call later. We offer free estimates, so there’s no risk in finding out what’s going on before it becomes a bigger problem.
Yes. Tree roots are one of the biggest causes of sewer line problems in Florida, especially in areas like Viera East where there are a lot of mature trees and year-round growing conditions. Roots grow toward moisture, and even a small crack or loose joint in your sewer pipe is enough to let them in.
Once roots get inside the pipe, they keep growing and eventually block the flow completely. You’ll notice slow drains, frequent backups, or sewage odors. A camera inspection will show us exactly where the roots are and how much damage they’ve caused.
We can clear the roots with a rooter or hydro-jetting to restore flow, but here’s the thing—if roots have penetrated the pipe, it means the pipe is already compromised. The roots will grow back unless the damaged section is repaired or replaced. Depending on the condition of the pipe, we might recommend a spot repair, a full line replacement, or just regular maintenance cleanings if you want to wait. We’ll show you what we’re seeing on the camera and give you options, not pressure.
Cast iron pipes were used in a lot of Florida homes built before 1975, and they don’t last forever. Over time, they corrode from the inside out—especially in areas with sandy soil, high water tables, and the kind of humidity we get here. When they start to fail, you’ll usually notice a few warning signs.
Slow drains that keep getting worse, even after cleaning. Sewage odors inside or outside your home. Discolored water. Frequent backups in the same area. Sometimes you’ll see wet spots in your yard or foundation cracks if the pipe has collapsed underground.
If your home still has cast iron and you’re dealing with any of these issues, it’s worth getting a camera inspection. We can see exactly how much corrosion or damage is there and whether you need a repair or a full replacement. Cast iron replacement isn’t cheap, but it’s also not something you want to put off if the pipe is actively failing. A collapsed sewer line or a backup inside your home will cost a lot more to deal with than a planned replacement.
Yes. We offer free estimates for any drain cleaning or plumbing project. That includes coming out to your property, running a camera inspection if needed, and giving you a clear breakdown of what’s wrong and what it’ll cost to fix it.
The estimate covers everything—labor, materials, and any equipment we’ll need to use. We don’t do hidden fees or surprise charges. If we find something unexpected during the job, we’ll stop and talk to you before moving forward.
For straightforward drain cleanings, we can usually give you a price over the phone based on what you’re describing. But if it’s a recurring problem or if you’re not sure what’s causing it, we recommend scheduling the free estimate so we can actually see what’s going on. That way, you’re not guessing, and we’re not guessing either. We also offer a 5% senior discount and warranties on our work, so you’re covered if anything comes up after the job is done.
