You get hot water back without the runaround. No waiting three days for a callback. No surprise fees when we’re halfway through the job.
When your water heater stops working in Rockledge, it’s not just an inconvenience—it disrupts your entire day. Showers go cold. Dishes pile up. Laundry waits. And if it’s leaking, you’re watching the clock while water spreads across your floor.
We show up the same day when possible, diagnose the problem quickly, and give you a clear answer: repair or replace. If it’s fixable, we fix it. If it’s not, we tell you why and what a replacement will actually cost—upfront, before we start. You’re not paying for guesswork or getting upsold on things you don’t need.
Our work comes with a one-year warranty. That means if something goes wrong with what we installed or repaired, we come back and make it right. You shouldn’t have to worry about whether the repair will hold—that’s on us.
Drain Wizard has been handling plumbing services in Rockledge and across Brevard County since 2007. We’re not a franchise. We’re not a call center dispatching whoever’s available.
You’re working directly with Carl—a state-licensed plumbing contractor with over 40 years of hands-on experience and 21 years of military service. That means the person who answers your call is the same person who shows up at your door and stands behind the work.
Rockledge sits right on the Indian River, which means salt air, high humidity, and year-round heat. Those conditions are tough on water heaters. Tanks rust faster here. Sediment builds up quicker. We’ve seen it hundreds of times, and we know how to address it before a small issue turns into a flooded laundry room.
First, you call or text us at 321-288-7686. We’ll ask a few questions about what’s happening—no hot water, strange noises, visible leaks—and schedule a time to come out. If it’s an emergency, we do everything we can to get there the same day.
When we arrive, we inspect the unit and run through the likely causes. Is it the heating element? Thermostat? Sediment buildup? A crack in the tank? We’ll walk you through what we find and explain your options in plain terms.
If it’s a repair, we give you the cost before we touch anything. If the unit is too far gone and needs replacing, we’ll explain why and help you choose a new one that fits your home and budget—gas, electric, tank, or tankless. Then we handle the installation and haul away the old unit. You don’t lift a finger.
Once the job’s done, we test everything to make sure it’s working right. Then we clean up and get out of your way. You’ll have hot water again, and a one-year warranty in case anything comes up.

We work on all types of hot water heaters—traditional tank models, tankless systems, gas, and electric. If it heats water, we can fix it or replace it.
That includes diagnosing issues like a water heater leaking from the bottom, no hot water at all, inconsistent temperatures, or strange rumbling sounds. We also handle full installations when a repair doesn’t make sense anymore. And we don’t just drop in a new unit and leave—we remove the old one, dispose of it properly, and make sure everything is up to code.
Living in Rockledge means dealing with Florida’s hard water and humidity. Those factors speed up corrosion and sediment buildup inside your tank. A water heater that might last 12 to 15 years up north often gives out closer to 8 to 10 years here. Regular maintenance—like flushing the tank annually—can add a few years to its life. We can handle that too, or walk you through how to do it yourself if you prefer.
If your unit is older and starting to show signs of trouble, it’s worth having someone take a look before it fails completely. Catching a small issue early can save you from a middle-of-the-night emergency and potential water damage to your floors, walls, or belongings.
If your water heater is less than eight years old and the issue is something like a faulty heating element, broken thermostat, or a worn valve, a repair usually makes sense. Those fixes are straightforward and cost a fraction of a new unit.
But if your tank is over ten years old, showing rust around the base, or actively leaking from a crack in the tank itself, replacement is the smarter move. A leaking tank can’t be repaired—it’s a structural failure. Trying to patch it or delay the inevitable just puts your home at risk for water damage.
We’ll always give you an honest assessment. If a repair buys you another few years, we’ll tell you. If it’s time to replace, we’ll explain why and help you pick the right unit without pushing you toward the most expensive option.
Leaks usually come from one of three places: the pressure relief valve, the drain valve, or the tank itself. The first two are fixable. The third one isn’t.
In Rockledge, the combination of hard water and humidity accelerates rust and corrosion inside the tank. Over time, sediment settles at the bottom and eats away at the metal. Once the tank develops a crack or hole, it’s done. You’ll see water pooling around the base, and that’s your sign it’s time for a replacement.
Sometimes a leak comes from a loose connection or a valve that needs replacing. Those are quick fixes. But if water is coming from the tank itself, no amount of repair work will stop it. We’ll inspect the source, explain what’s happening, and give you a clear recommendation.
Yes, in most cases. If you call us in the morning or early afternoon and we’re not already tied up on another emergency, we’ll do everything we can to get to you the same day.
Emergency water heater repair is a priority for us because we know what’s at stake. A broken water heater doesn’t just mean cold showers—it can mean water damage, mold risk, and a house full of frustrated people. We’ve seen it enough times to know that waiting two or three days isn’t realistic for most families.
If we can’t make it the same day, we’ll tell you upfront and get you on the schedule as soon as possible. We won’t leave you guessing or give you a vague “we’ll call you back” response. You’ll know exactly when we’re coming.
Yes. Tankless units are becoming more common in Rockledge, especially in newer homes or renovations where space and energy efficiency matter. They’re great for providing hot water on demand without keeping a 40- or 50-gallon tank heated all day.
But they’re not maintenance-free. Tankless systems can develop mineral buildup in the heat exchanger, especially with Florida’s hard water. They can also have issues with the ignition system, flow sensors, or venting. We’re trained to diagnose and repair those problems.
If you’re thinking about switching from a tank to a tankless system, we can walk you through the pros and cons. Tankless units cost more upfront, but they last longer and can lower your energy bills. Whether that makes sense for your home depends on your water usage, space, and budget—we’ll help you figure it out.
Most repairs take one to three hours, depending on what’s wrong. Replacing a heating element or thermostat is usually on the quicker side. Flushing a tank that’s full of sediment or replacing a pressure relief valve might take a bit longer.
If we’re installing a new water heater, plan on three to five hours. That includes removing the old unit, installing the new one, connecting it to your gas or electric line, testing everything, and hauling the old tank away. Tankless installations can take a little longer because of the venting and electrical requirements.
We won’t rush the job just to get to the next call. We’d rather take the time to do it right the first time than have you call us back a week later because something wasn’t tightened down or tested properly. You’ll know upfront how long we expect the job to take, and we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
First, turn off the water supply to the unit. There should be a shut-off valve on the cold water line going into the top of the tank—turn it clockwise to close it. If you can’t find it or it’s stuck, shut off the main water supply to your house.
Next, turn off the power. If it’s an electric water heater, flip the breaker. If it’s gas, turn the dial on the gas valve to “off.” Don’t skip this step—you don’t want the heating element or burner running while the tank is empty or leaking.
Then call us at 321-288-7686. If water is actively spreading across your floor, grab some towels or a mop to contain it while you wait. If the leak is major and you’re worried about damage to your floors or walls, you might want to move anything valuable out of the area. We’ll get there as quickly as we can and take it from there.
