Bathroom Renovation Plumbing in Audubon

What You Get When the Plumbing Actually Works

You’re not tearing out your bathroom just to make it look nice. You’re fixing problems that have been driving you crazy for years—low water pressure, drains that back up, fixtures that leak, or a layout that just doesn’t work anymore.

When the plumbing side of your bathroom remodel is done right, everything changes. Your shower has real pressure. Your drains clear in seconds. Your vanity doesn’t smell like mildew because the pipes are vented properly and water isn’t sitting where it shouldn’t.

You stop worrying about what’s happening behind the walls. No surprise leaks six months later. No mold creeping up because someone didn’t waterproof correctly or understand how Florida’s humidity works with bathroom plumbing systems.

That’s what happens when you work with plumbers who actually know bathroom renovation plumbing—not just fixture swaps, but full reconfigurations, pipe rerouting services, proper drainage, venting, and installations that hold up in this climate. You get a bathroom that works the way you always thought it should.

We've Been Doing This Since 2007

Drain Wizard is a family-owned plumbing company based right here on the Space Coast. We’ve been serving Audubon and the rest of Brevard County since 2007, and our work is backed by over 40 years of combined plumbing experience and 20 years of military service.

That military background shows up in how we run jobs—on time, no surprises, and done the way we said we’d do it. Our owner Carl started in plumbing at 16 and built this company on the idea that honest work and quality craftsmanship matter more than speed or shortcuts.

We’re State Certified Master Plumbers (CFC#1428379), A+ rated with the BBB, and we’ve earned a 4.9 rating from homeowners who’ve trusted us with everything from emergency repairs to full bathroom remodels. We’re not the cheapest option in Audubon, and we’re fine with that. You’re paying for work that lasts and plumbers who show up when they say they will.

Our Bathroom Plumbing Remodel Process

Here's How We Handle Your Bathroom Remodel

We start with a walkthrough of your current bathroom and what you’re trying to accomplish. You tell us what’s not working—whether that’s the layout, the fixtures, the water pressure, or all of the above. We look at your existing plumbing, check for any issues with your drain lines or supply pipes, and talk through what makes sense for your space and budget.

From there, we map out the plumbing work. If you’re moving the vanity or relocating your shower, that means pipe rerouting services and possibly opening walls. If you’re keeping the same layout but upgrading everything, we’re focused on bathroom fixture installation—new tub, shower valve, faucets, toilet, and making sure your drainage and venting are up to code.

We handle the demo, rough-in plumbing, pressure testing, and final installation. If your home has older cast iron drain lines, we’ll let you know if they need replacing before we close up the walls. Everything gets inspected and approved before we move forward.

Once the plumbing is locked in, your contractor or tile team can finish the rest. You’ll have a bathroom that works right—no leaks, no weird smells, no pressure problems. Just a clean install that does exactly what it’s supposed to.

About Drain Wizard Plumbing

Bathroom Fixture Installation in Audubon

What's Included in a Full Bathroom Plumbing Remodel

When we say bathroom remodeling plumbing, we’re talking about the full scope—not just swapping a faucet. That includes shower and tub replacement with new valves and drains, vanity plumbing with proper trap installation and shut-off valves, toilet replacement or relocation, and all the supply and drain lines that connect everything.

If your layout is changing, we reroute hot and cold water lines and reconfigure your drain and vent system so everything flows correctly. Florida’s plumbing code is strict about venting, and for good reason—improper venting leads to slow drains, sewer gas smells, and trap failures that let humidity rot out your vanity.

We also address things most bathroom contractors miss. That means checking your water heater capacity if you’re adding a second shower or a soaking tub. It means installing pressure-balancing valves so your shower doesn’t scald you when someone flushes a toilet. And it means using materials that hold up in Florida’s humidity and hard water—no galvanized pipes, no plastic fittings that crack under heat.

In Audubon and across Brevard County, we see the same problems in older bathrooms—cast iron drains that are corroded through, improper slope on waste lines, and fixtures installed without access panels. We fix all of that during the remodel so you’re not dealing with it again in five years.

How long does the plumbing work take during a bathroom remodel?

For a standard bathroom remodel where you’re keeping the same layout, the rough plumbing work usually takes one to two days. That’s removing old fixtures, installing new supply lines and drains, and getting everything ready for inspection.

If you’re moving walls or changing the layout—relocating your vanity, adding a separate shower, or moving the toilet—expect three to five days for the plumbing portion. That includes opening walls, rerouting pipes, installing new drain lines, and making sure everything is properly vented and sloped.

The final fixture installation happens after your tile, flooring, and paint are done. That’s usually another day to install your tub, shower valve trim, faucets, toilet, and vanity connections. We coordinate timing with your general contractor so the plumbing work doesn’t hold up the rest of the job.

If your home was built before 1980 and still has cast iron drain lines, there’s a good chance you should. Cast iron corrodes from the inside out, and in Florida’s climate, that process happens faster because of humidity and soil conditions.

We can scope your drains with a camera to see what condition they’re in. If we’re seeing rust buildup, cracks, or sections that are paper-thin, it makes sense to replace them now while the walls are already open. Replacing a drain line after you’ve finished your remodel costs three times as much because of the demo and repair work.

If your drains are PVC or ABS and flowing correctly, you’re usually fine. We’ll still inspect them and make sure they’re sloped properly and vented to code. A lot of older bathrooms in Audubon have drain issues that were never done right the first time, and a remodel is the perfect opportunity to fix that.

We work both ways. Some homeowners hire us directly and coordinate the whole remodel themselves. Others have a general contractor managing the project, and we come in as the plumbing subcontractor.

Either way works fine. If you’re working with a contractor, we’ll coordinate our schedule with theirs and make sure the rough plumbing is done before drywall goes up and the finish plumbing happens at the right time.

If you’re managing the project yourself, we can walk you through the sequence and let you know when you’ll need other trades on site. Most bathroom remodels follow the same order—demo, rough plumbing, inspection, drywall or cement board, tile, paint, then final plumbing and fixture installation. We’ve done this enough times that we can help you avoid the common scheduling mistakes that slow down the job.

Not waterproofing correctly around the shower and tub. Florida’s humidity is brutal, and if water gets behind your tile because the waterproofing membrane wasn’t installed right, you’re looking at mold, rot, and a full tear-out within a couple years.

The plumbing side of that is making sure your shower valve is installed at the right depth, your drain is properly connected and sealed, and everything is tested under pressure before tile goes up. We’ve seen too many remodels where someone installed a valve crooked or didn’t use the right escutcheon, and water ends up running down the inside of the wall every time you shower.

The other big mistake is undersizing your water heater or not checking if your pressure is adequate for the new fixtures. If you’re going from a tub-shower combo to a rainfall showerhead and body sprays, your old 40-gallon water heater might not keep up. We check that upfront so you’re not surprised later.

For a straightforward fixture replacement with no layout changes, you’re typically looking at $2,500 to $4,500 for the plumbing work. That includes removing old fixtures, installing new supply and drain lines, and hooking up your tub, shower, vanity, and toilet.

If you’re reconfiguring the layout or moving plumbing to a different wall, costs go up because of the additional labor and materials. A full replumb with relocated fixtures usually runs $5,000 to $8,000, depending on how much pipe rerouting is involved and whether we need to replace any drain lines.

If we find issues during demo—corroded pipes, improper venting, or drain lines that need replacing—we’ll let you know before we proceed. We don’t surprise you with bills at the end. You’ll get a clear estimate upfront, and if anything changes, we talk through it and get your approval first.

Yes. Any time we’re doing rough plumbing work—opening walls, rerouting pipes, or installing new drain lines—that work needs a permit and inspection in Brevard County.

We pull the permits, schedule the inspections, and make sure everything passes. That’s part of what you’re paying for when you hire a licensed plumber instead of a handyman. The inspection protects you because it ensures the work meets Florida’s plumbing code.

If you’re selling your home down the road, unpermitted plumbing work can kill a deal or force you to open up walls and bring everything up to code at your expense. We make sure that doesn’t happen. Every job we do is documented, inspected, and done right so you never have to worry about it again.
