You stop worrying about water pooling in your shower. You stop plunging the same toilet twice a week. You stop smelling that faint sewer odor that makes you wonder if something worse is coming.
When your drains are clean and flowing, your home feels normal again. You’re not calling plumbers every few months. You’re not dealing with emergency backups on a Sunday morning.
That’s what proper drain cleaning does. It removes the buildup, clears the blockage, and gives you back the peace of mind that comes with a system that just works. If tree roots are the problem, we handle that too. If your cast iron pipes are corroding from the inside out, we’ll tell you now before it becomes a sewage backup in your hallway.
Drain Wizard is a family-owned plumbing company serving West Melbourne and the rest of Brevard County. We’ve been here since 2007, and before that, our team brought over 40 years of combined plumbing experience and 20+ years of military background to the work.
That means we show up on time, we do the job right, and we don’t leave a mess. We’re state certified, locally trusted, and we don’t charge extra for nights, weekends, or emergencies.
A lot of homes in West Melbourne were built in the 80s and 90s. Some older ones still have cast iron pipes from the 70s. Those systems are aging, and Florida’s climate doesn’t help. We know what breaks, why it breaks, and how to fix it so it doesn’t break again next season.
First, we listen. You tell us what’s going on—slow drain, backup, smell, whatever it is. We ask a few questions to get a sense of the issue before we even arrive.
When we get to your home, we inspect the problem. That might mean running a camera down the line to see what’s blocking it. Could be grease buildup, tree roots, or a section of pipe that’s collapsed. We don’t guess. We look.
Once we know what’s wrong, we explain it to you in plain terms. No jargon. No upselling. Just what’s broken and what it’ll take to fix it. Then we clear the blockage using the right equipment—whether that’s a cable auger, hydro jetting, or something else depending on what’s in the way.
After the drain is clear, we test it to make sure water flows like it should. If we spot a bigger issue—like roots that’ll come back or a pipe that’s about to fail—we’ll tell you. You decide what happens next.

Every drain cleaning job starts with a full assessment. We don’t just snake the line and leave. We figure out why it clogged in the first place so you’re not calling us back in two months.
If you’ve got tree roots breaking into your sewer line, that’s common here. West Melbourne has plenty of live oaks and other trees with aggressive root systems. They find moisture, and that means they find your pipes. We can cut them out and, if needed, recommend a long-term fix so they don’t come back.
For homes with cast iron pipes—especially anything installed before 1975—we check for corrosion. Florida’s humidity speeds up rust, and once those pipes start to go, they don’t get better. If your system is on its way out, we’ll walk you through your options. If it just needs a good cleaning, that’s what we’ll do.
We also handle kitchen and bathroom drain clogs, main line blockages, and emergency backups. If it’s 2 a.m. and your toilet is overflowing, we’re available. No extra charge for the time of day.
If your drain is slow or gurgling, that usually means there’s a blockage building up. If it’s completely stopped or you’re getting backups in multiple fixtures, that’s a sign the main line is clogged.
We use a camera to look inside the pipe and see exactly what’s happening. That tells us whether it’s a simple clog we can clear in an hour or if there’s a root invasion, a collapsed pipe, or corrosion that needs more attention.
Most of the time, a good cleaning fixes it. But if we see something that’s going to cause problems down the road, we’ll show you the footage and explain what’s going on. You’ll know exactly what you’re dealing with before we do anything.
For most homes, once a year is enough to prevent buildup and catch problems early. If you’ve got older pipes, a lot of trees in your yard, or you’ve had recurring clogs, twice a year makes more sense.
Florida’s heavy summer rains can overwhelm sewer systems, and tree roots grow fast here. Regular maintenance keeps your lines clear and gives us a chance to spot issues before they turn into emergencies.
If you’re already dealing with slow drains or bad smells, don’t wait. Those are signs that something’s building up, and it’s easier to handle now than after it backs up into your house.
Snaking uses a cable with a cutting head to break through a clog. It works well for most blockages—hair, grease, small root intrusions. It’s fast and effective for routine clogs.
Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the inside of the pipe. It removes buildup on the walls, clears out grease, and cuts through tougher blockages like tree roots. It’s more thorough, and it’s what we recommend if your pipes keep clogging or if there’s heavy buildup.
We’ll tell you which method makes sense for your situation. If a cable will do the job, we’re not going to charge you for hydro jetting. If your pipes need a deeper clean, we’ll explain why.
Yes, and it’s one of the most common problems we see in West Melbourne. Tree roots are drawn to moisture, and even a tiny crack in your sewer line is enough for them to get in.
Once they’re inside, they grow fast. They block the flow, catch debris, and eventually cause backups. If you’ve got large trees near your sewer line—especially older homes with cast iron or clay pipes—roots are probably already in there or on their way.
We can clear the roots and, if needed, repair or replace the damaged section of pipe. If you’re seeing recurring clogs or slow drains and you’ve got big trees in your yard, roots are likely the reason.
No. If your drain backs up at 10 p.m. on a Saturday, you pay the same rate as if you called us on a Tuesday afternoon.
Plumbing emergencies don’t wait for business hours, and we don’t think you should have to pay a penalty for that. We’re available 24/7 because we know that a sewer backup or a clogged main line can’t wait until Monday.
When you call, we’ll give you a clear idea of timing and cost before we come out. No surprises, no extra fees.
Stop using water in that area. If your kitchen sink is backing up, don’t run the dishwasher or the disposal. If it’s a toilet, don’t flush it again.
If the backup is coming from your main sewer line, it can affect multiple drains. Using water anywhere in the house can make it worse. If you’re seeing sewage coming up, that’s a health hazard—keep people and pets away from the area.
If you can safely access the cleanout (the capped pipe outside your house), you can check if it’s overflowing. Don’t try to open it if it’s under pressure. Just call us and we’ll handle it as soon as we arrive.
