Tips To Prevent Low Water Pressure

No one likes running out of water pressure— our pipes don't like it, either! But it can be hard to know the cause. One of the things we recommend for Rockledge homeowners is to invest in a water pressure test gauge. These handy little things are under ten bucks and hook right up to your outdoor spigot like a hose.

If you're dealing with low water pressure, the first thing to do is to check with your utility company. Sometimes, there's an issue with the city's water line like a broken main affecting nearby homes. If the company rules out any issues on their end, it's time to do some troubleshooting.

Check Your Supply Valve
Sometimes these aren't open all the way. The supply valve should be with your meter.

Do a Shut In Test
Make sure all water-using appliances are off. Shut off your main water valve and check your meter. If it's changing, you have a leak affecting your pressure. Even little leaks can cause big problems, and they'll run up your water bill to boot!

Unblock Pipes
Water needs open pipes to flow; pressure issues could be a simple clog. You can try a snake or call a technician.

Consider a Booster Pump
Booster pumps help repressurize water before it enters your home. Sometimes your piping just doesn't have a good flow, like if it's going uphill or is far from a supply.

If you're struggling with low water pressure in Rockledge, give Drain Wizards a call. Our technicians are standing by to work their magic and help your water flow freely.
